4 Different Methods to Transfer your Mobile Contacts

Did you just buy a new mobile phone? After considering significant factors such as budget, features, sleek design, size as well as platform, The first thing that you’ll probably is copy all the phone numbers and other contact information from the old phone to your new cell.

There are different ways to transfer contacts from one phone to another. The process may vary depending upon the phone support cloud but broadly, there are four options. I will discuss the most popular mobile platforms like BlackBerry, iPhone, HTC, Nokia, Windows Phone, Samsung and Android. You can opt any one of them listed below.

Transferring from SIM card
When your old mobile address book is comparatively smaller, and you only wish to copy the phone numbers to your new mobile phone, then simply use your SIM card.
Just copy the phone numbers from the old phone’s memory to your SIM card, insert this SIM card into your new phone and then copy the phone numbers in your new phone’s memory.

Most phones such as Nokia have the option of “copy contacts to the Sim”. You are required to put the Sim card in the new phone and choose “copy contacts from Sim to phone or similar, and you will find that contacts would be copied.
The single problem with SIM transfer is that you can move only 300 contacts at one go. Also, you might find that, contacts having bigger name might get truncated.

Transfer Contacts via your Computer
The SIM card based approach is good only for transferring basic phone numbers but if your phone’s address book includes long names, email addresses, and other details of your contacts, you need some sort of software to help you with the transfer process.
The phone contacts from one mobile can be transferred to the computer with the help of data cable or using Bluetooth. Once the computer detects the mobile, go to your mobile contacts and then on your computer save the contacts in a file after which the same can be transferred to your new mobile phone. In case, you wish to use bluetooth, then open the contact list then mark the contact, you wish to transfer then Select” Send Name Card and then choose Bluetooth” click send. The mobile would then search for the devices. Select the mobile you wish to send the contact, that’s all; your contacts would be now transferred to another mobile.

The mobile would then search for the devices. Select the mobile you wish to send the contact, that’s all; your contacts would be transferred to another mobile.
This mode is good only for transferring basic phone numbers, but if your address book consists long names, email address and other details of your contacts, then you require some software to help you with the transfer process.

In case, you have a Nokia mobile, and you have brought a Blackberry or an iPhone, and then you might use Nokia’s Ovi Suite application in order to copy your phone’s address book to Microsoft Outlook on your desktop computer.

Transfer through Memory Card

You can also transfer contacts by saving or backing up your contacts in your memory card. The memory card can be inserted in your new phone and restored. This option is available only in phones like samsung, which allow you to backup onto memory card

Transfer through PC Suite

Phone contacts can also be transferred using the your phone’s PC Suite.
Most phones come with a software which allow you to synchronise your phone book with your computer. For example, the Nokia PC Suite, Samsung Kies,Sony Ericsson PC Suite etc. You should have received a copy of this software with your phone or you can download from the phone manufacturer’s website.
Using your phone’s PC Suite, copy the contacts from your old phone and save it in your new phone.

By using any of the above techniques you can update your new phone with all the contacts.

Cyber Security : Few Steps to Clean up your Android Device

Most Smartphone and Tablet makers single out ‘Android’ as their preferred mobile operating system for its ease of user interface. It’s well known that Android is an open source software stack for a wide range of mobile devices. This fact makes it susceptible to virus and malware. In case, you have reasons to believe your Android Smartphone or Tablet has a virus or other malicious content, here are a few steps to clean up your device.

Reboot Your Smartphone
Your Smartphone needs to be on safe mode to prevent any third-party apps from running including any malware. To enable safe mode, press the power button to get power off option, and then press and hold power off button to restart in safe mode option. This will disable all third-party applications that you have installed. The clean applications will be automatically restored when you reboot.
Device Settings
Once you’ve restarted your device on safe mode, navigate to ‘Settings’ and choose Apps on the Download tab. Go through the list and check for apps installed that might seem suspicious and ideally, shouldn’t be running on your device.
Uninstall Malicious App(s)
Tap on the malicious app and click uninstall. Once you have uninstalled the app, reboot the device and it’s ready to be used and virus-free. In the event of the uninstall button being greyed out, it means the virus has taken over as the Device Administrator itself.
Device Administrator
Navigate your way through to the ‘Device Administrator’. Here, you will get the full list of apps on your device with the administrator status. You just need to uncheck the app you want to remove, and then tap ‘Deactivate’ on the next screen. The infected app is thus uninstalled.

Restart to Normal Mode
After uninstalling any malicious app, take your device off safe mode by restarting it. Now your Smartphone or Tablet is safe without any virus.

How to disable Facebook’s auto-play videos

Happy life path helps you with tips and tricks,Your social media feed is under assault by moving pictures.
In recent months, both Facebook and Twitter have enabled auto-play videos; whenever a video enters your feed or timeline, it automatically starts playing. At best, it is an annoyance that chews through your data cap.
By now you have probably noticed that many of the videos in your news feed now start playing automatically as soon as they load. And like me, you might find that a bit distracting.

Luckily, it’s very easy to disable auto-play videos on Facebook. Just follow these steps:

1 – Log in to your Facebook account.

2 – Click the Down Arrow located in the upper right-hand corner of the window.
3 – Click Settings.
4 – Click the Videos link over in the left-hand column.
5 – Toggle the “Auto-Play Videos” setting to Off.

That’s all there is to it. From now on you shouldn’t see any of the videos in your newsfeed begin to play on their own before you click on them.
Note: If you use Facebook on a mobile device and your version of the app allows you to disable auto-playing videos, you’ll find that setting somewhere in the settings menus.
On Android, you will find the auto-play settings within the Facebook app itself. Tap the menu button and then choose settings.
On an iPhone, go to Settings and scroll down until you find Facebook. Tap on it and then tap Settings. Next, tap on the Autoplay setting and choose either Wi-Fi only or Off so you don’t use a big chunk of your monthly data allotment on Facebook videos.

How To Disable mobile inbuild Android Apps

Apps in your Android phone can use a good share of resources and if too many apps are operating at the same time it can lead to some performance or battery issues. This is why, it can be important to only running apps that you actually use and others should be deleted or otherwise disabled (when removing them isn’t an option). It is quite easy to uninstall Android Market apps which you don’t plan to use, but what about apps from OEMs and mobile carriers? Did you notice that there is no Uninstall/delete button on these apps? They are just in your phone and could be feeding on resources while you can’t seem to anything about it.
There is a good chance that you don’t use most or all of the apps installed by your wireless carrier or OEM. If you can’t delete them, you can at least Disable them so they won’t be able to slow down your phone.

Some of you who Rooted your android phone user must be thinking “just root your phone and get rid of all the junk”, but there are many Android users who don’t actually want to root their phone. “Disabling” apps is perfect for those users who want to run their phones in an optimum way, by disabling unused apps (commonly referred as “Bloatware”).

Disabling Android Apps

The process is actually quite simple and you won’t be losing anything [although you need to be careful while choosing the app to be disabled (more on this later)]. When you disable an app, it will still stay in your phone but will not be launched during the initial start up, so you can easily enable it again if you need to. In the end, it’s a good way to optimize your phone without potential dire consequences associated with Rooting the phone.

Note: In this tutorial, we will be using Samsung Galaxy Core 2 running Android KitKat 4.4.2. We will Disable “Google Text-to-speech Engine” which cannot be deleted (it’s just an example, although the app is quite useful). The process should be same on almost all android device, but the names of options may vary.

To disable any app on your android phone, you will first have to go to Settings and tap onApplication manager.

Once there you will see different options at the top such as Downloaded, Running and All. You need to swipe to All so you would be able to see all the apps you have on your phone. Just swipe left until you reach All.

There you can just search for apps that you don’t want to use. Let’s say you like reading things by yourself and don’t want to use Google Text-to-speech app. You can just tap on Google Text-to-speech and open all its details. There you will see the options of Force stop, Uninstall Updates and Turn off/Disable, tap on Turn off/Disable.

When you will tap on Turn off/Disable you will see a warning/notice saying “Turning off a built-in app may cause problems with other apps. Your data will also be deleted” just tapOK. In some phones, another warning/notice will pop up saying “The application will be replaced with the factory version” tap on Uninstall on this pop up notice and the app will be uninstalled.

Precaution: Now, the warnings you see before disabling the app are not there just to scare you, they are actually real. So before disabling any app make sure it is not directly or indirectly affecting any apps that you might use. This app is a service that is potentially used by other apps as well, so there may be ripple effects.

Enabling Android Apps

Like we have mentioned before, these apps are not deleted, you can enable them anytime you like if you change your mind. To enable the app again, just go into the details of that specific app again using the process above and tap on Turn on/enable and it will be ready to use again without going through any processes.

How to delete WhatsApp messages even after 7 minutes : tips & Tricks by Happy life path

ICT Tips and Tricks :Whatsapp is one of the most used IM apps around the world right now with a user base of over one billion.
This app is available in Android, iOS, Windows platform and also accessible from desktop computers. Since the launch of this app, it has gone through some serious changes from just messaging to sharing temporary stories for 24 hours.

Among the slew of updates, Whatsapp has rolled out an update recently, that helps the users to delete the messages for both sender and receiver if sent wrongly.

Initially, the above-mentioned feature allows users to delete the sent messages within 7 minutes. However, there seems to be a bug in it, which lets the user delete it after the specific time frame — 7 minutes. The bug allows a user to delete the sent messages for up to a maximum of seven days. In order to do that, follow the below steps

How to control storage space used by WhatsApp on Android

Step 1: First off, turn off Internet connection be it your WiFi or Mobile data on your smartphone and head on to settings panel.

Step 2: Now tap on Apps -> Whatsapp -> tap on Force Stop

Step 3: Once you are over with it, go to the settings again and disable the automatic Date & time update.

Step 4: Now change both date and time on your smartphone to the time, when you sent the sent the message. If you are not sure about it, you can scroll the chat till it shows you the date and time on it.

Step 5: Once done, you can delete the message by holding on to the message for few seconds, where you will see two options ‘Delete For Me’ and ‘Delete For Everyone’. If you want to delete for the sender you can do it tapping on it or else tap on the first option. Once done, change the time and date back to normal.

How to make changes to name and other details on PAN card

Everyone has experienced a type in their ID cards or other documents and most of us go ahead without ever getting it corrected.
Ever since the government made linking Aadhaar cards with PAN cards mandatory, people have been running about trying to get any mismatched information rectified. If the data on both cards do not match, it could lead to problems in the future.
Changing details on a PAN card can now be done online as well. Here is how to go about it:
The first thing to do is visit the National Securities Depository Limited’s (NSDL) website. Once here, click the drop down menu under Application type and select Changes or correction in existing PAN data/Reprint of PAN card. Fill in all the correct details, enter the captcha code to prove you are human and then hit Submit.
Once submission is over, the next step involves choosing how PAN documents should be submitted. The e-KYC option needs an Aadhaar card, the e-Sign option needs scanned images of the documents submitted or the documents can be physically sent to the nearest NSDL collection centre. Choose the most suitable option and hit Next.

Fill out the details on the next page carefully, especially ones marked with a red asterisk. All details should exactly match the ones on the Aadhaar card and select which field requires the appropriate correction.
The next step is filling in address details followed by uploading and submitting accepted proof of identity, age and address.

If the proof submitted is an Aadhaar card, then the Aadhaar number will have to be entered in order to proceed.
After hitting Submit, a preview of the application form will pop up. Verify all details, make any necessary changes and then proceed towards payment.

Payment
The processing fee is different for addresses within and outside India: Rs 110 from domestic addresses and Rs 1,020 for addresses outside the country.
Payment can be made through a demand draft, debit or credit cards or net banking.
A demand draft (if used) should be in favour of NSDL - PAN and payable at Mumbai.
After clicking Pay confirm, a page will appear indicating whether the transaction was successful or not. If yes, a transaction number and a bank reference number will be shown. Both should be saved and then choose Continue.
The next step will be authenticating via Aadhaar. Tick the box and then Authenticate.
If the personal details match those in the Aadhaar card, click Continue with e-Sign/e-KYC.
Generate OTP, enter it and then hit Submit.
The next page will feature the application as it was submitted. This can either be downloaded directly from the page or from the acknowledgement email.
The new PAN card will be printed and sent to the address provided.
This is the entire process on how to make changes to a PAN card to match it with the Aadhaar.
