Printer Tips and Tricks

Happy life path team guide you  with techno tips useful for the digital world. here we gives you the tips about how to use Printers are a useful bit of technology and as computers have advanced and become everyday objects, so have the printers that we use with them. Nearly everyone owns or uses a printer regularly, and if you have one then you’ll know how expensive they can be to run, not just that but the problems and errors can sometimes drive you to insanity. So to help you with your printer we’ve put together a short list of some printer tips and tricks.

You may or may not have heard of drivers depending on how much you know about computers. A driver is basically a piece of software that operates and controls a device that is connected to your computer, in this case a printer. If you have lost the driver disk for your printer and need it to re-install the driver then don’t worry, most of the manufacturers have archives of their drivers on their websites, you will probably end up getting a newer version of the driver this way too.
On some printers you can print out a test page without even going through your computers print interface. It varies depending on the model, for example on the Photosmart C3180 if you hold down the ‘x’ button and the colour button then a test page will print. Have a look through you printers manual and see if your printer has this feature.
If you ever have any problems or errors when it comes to printing (in most cases everyone who owns a printer has had some sort of problem at some stage), then try rebooting both your printer and computer, check all the wires that connect your PC and printer and provide them with power are plugged in correctly and if all else fails then update/re-install your driver.
Ink can sometimes dry up and cause small blockages within the print-heads nozzles, this can lead to your prints being streaky and faded. If this happens to you, you can buy cleaning cartridges that will clean the print-heads within a inkjet printer, they will break up and remove any ink that has dried inside the nozzles within the print-head.
Web sites, emails and other documents often have ads and other clutter that you generally don’t want to print. PrintFriendly.com allows you to make any web page or document print friendly by getting rid of the unneeded clutter, saving you a lot of ink and money in the long run. There are also some installable alternatives, but personally I find using PrintFriendly.com the easiest/quickest way of getting rid of clutter.
When buying a new printer, always check the ink cartridge prices before you buy. It is common to buy a printer that is extremely cheap only to find out that the ink costs more than the printer did. It is this razor and blade style business model that a lot of the printer manufacturers use to make their money (they sell the main product for very little and make up the money in the consumables), it’s a clever business model, but it drives the customers insane.
If you can buy re-manufactured ink cartridges or can get them re-filled professionally then do so. Re-manufactued/re-filled/compatible cartridges do not void the printers warranty and as long as you check for reviews of the company you are buying from first then you should get similar or the same print quality for a lot less.
If you have a laser jet printer, and your toner cartridge is beginning to show signs of running out (streaks and lighter print outs), take out your toner cartridge and shake it lightly, the same way you probably had when first inserting your cartridge. This should redistribute the toner dust that is left inside and will hopefully let you print out a few more pages before it totally runs out.
If you are wanting to save money, then try changing to the print quality to ‘draft’ or ‘grey-scale’ in your printer settings to save ink and print double-sided (also called duplex printing) if your printer allows it, to save paper.
If your ink cartridge dries up and as a result isn’t printing well then try dipping the print-head on the cartridge (this only applies to the cartridges that come with the print-head built-in) into some warm/hot water for a few seconds, this should break up the dried ink. After doing so dab the print-head on some tissue paper, if you get a solid line of ink then dry the cartridge off and place it back in the printer.
If your printer tells you, you are running low on ink, but you still are getting good quality prints with no streaks or fading, then carry on printing as you will probably still get a few more pages from it. The estimation of how many pages your cartridge will print is just that, an estimation, more than often you will get more prints that it says.

Tips to keep your accounts safe from hackers

The internet is an integral part of our daily lives. We use it for communication, searching for information, making payments.
However, a bunch of people on the internet are out to get your money by preying on your unsuspecting instincts.
A Mumbai-based businessman was cheated of Rs 23 lakh after criminals hacked into his email account earlier this month. To avoid a similar fate, read on for the most common methods used by hackers along with tips on how to avoid being duped:
1. Spoof emails

All netizens use email for work or personal use. This also makes it one of the easiest methods to contact someone and entice him her with schemes.

The most common fraud emails include those about winning lotteries or a wealthy prince looking to invest money through you or regarding inheritance from unknown persons.

Emails like these from people you don't know should be red flags. Then there are mails with attachments that can install spyware or viruses when you open the attachment.

The simple way to be safe against email fraud is to neither download attachments nor send details to unknown senders.

2. Fake websites/apps

You could be scammed by visiting fake websites or installing fake smartphone/tablet apps.

Many times, it's the bank websites that get duplicated -- they may even look exactly like the original and will ask you to input your login ID and password to proceed. If you place these details, the creator will use them to access your account.

The easiest way to detect a fake bank website is to see the browser address bar. Check that the website address has 'https:' before the name. This means that the site uses a secure certificate (all bank websites use this).

In terms of apps, check for the developer name (usually written below the app name in the app store) and read reviews on any banking app in detail before installing these apps. Only download banking apps from the official app stores.

3. Ads that are too good to be true

If you see a product available at a price which is way below the regular asking price, it is bound to be some sort of scam. You can get discounts online, but when something is listed as 80 or 90% off the retail price, it's a red flag.

People putting up these deals usually ask for money upfront which is another red flag. Keep in mind that these products could also be stolen or imported products being sold, so if you actually find a genuine product make sure to take a copy of the ID proof of the seller.

4. Key loggers

A key logger is software installed on a computer that records each and every keystroke you do on the keyboard.

A fraudster can find your login details for various sites, just by accessing the entire log of your key presses. Public internet cafes are an easy target to install these key loggers to get crucial information from unsuspecting users.

There is essentially no way to detect if a keylogger is running in the background so if you must use a public computer, avoid typing usernames and passwords on the keyboard.

Use virtual keyboards instead. Most bank websites have these. You can also pull up the onscreen keyboard in Windows and use that to input the username and password.

Windows 8 users can search for an on-screen keyboard in the start menu while older Windows users can go to Start menu > All programs > accessories > ease of access > on-screen keyboard.

5. Credit card details on phone

There are many advertisements sent by banks to avoid this issue. No one from your bank will ever call and ask for your credit card details over a phone call.
Any call claiming to be from the bank and asking for bank details is a red flag.
You should not share information regarding credit cards or netbanking with anyone over the phone, even if the caller knows a fair bit about you.

Back Pain - Health Tips

What does pain tell you? Is all pain the same? Below you can find more information on what pain is. Understanding back pain is the first step towards taking control of back pain.
Pain as a warning signal or not?
If you, accidentally, cut your finger with a knife, you experience pain. This pain signal is triggered in the cells of the tissue in your finger that are being damaged by the sharp knife. Although unpleasant, the pain is actually a useful response from your body since it alerts you that your finger is damaged and you need to take action to prevent further damage and/or ensure recovery from the damage. This is called acute pain. Similarly, when you sprain a muscle in your back, you will feel a sudden jolt of pain. Again this pain signal warns you need to take action in order to recover or prevent further damage.
However, persistent back pain is very different from the above examples. Persistent pain no longer acts as a warning signal and it does not refer to any tissue damage. The warning system goes into overdrive and sends out repeated pain signals, which are not needed or are out of proportion. The pain signals in persistent pain, also called chronic pain, no longer serve a useful purpose. But nevertheless you experience pain and it is virtually impossible to distinguish the useful pain signals from the disruptive pain signals. However knowing that persistent pain is often not a warning signal, means that you can respond differently to the pain. While you may think that rest is best when experiencing pain, for persistent back pain it is actually much better to stay active. Knowing that your pain does not mean that any structures in your back have been seriously damaged can take away some of the concerns you may have about using your back while in pain.

Definition of pain
Pain is not only a physical response; your mind also plays an important role in how you perceive pain. One of the world's leading organisations in the area of pain research (the International Association for the Study of Pain, IASP) has defined pain as: ‘An unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage or described in terms of such damage’. In this definition you can see that pain is not only a signal that your body sends out in response to a certain trigger (a sensory experience) but also an emotional experience. In other words, how your mind responds to pain is an important aspect of how you perceive pain.
You may have heard of people overcoming great pain when their mind was focused on something else. This is a great example of how the mind or your emotions can influence your pain experience. Secondly the definition of the IASP also shows that pain could be, but is not necessarily associated with tissue damage. This refers to the difference, explained above, between acute pain and persistent or chronic pain.
Why self help?
The only person that lives with your back pain is yourself. Healthcare professionals and other practitioners can be very helpful in providing treatments and giving information and tips, but these people cannot be at your side 24 hours a day. This is where self-help techniques can play a big role. Many healthcare professionals, practitioners, or products, can help you with applying self help techniques. The list below contains some techniques that you may want to try.
Staying active
The best way of coping with back pain and preventing the pain from getting worse is to stay active. This may sound strange as staying active and moving around when you have back pain may be difficult. However, staying active or perhaps even increasing your levels of activity, prevents your body from de-conditioning. There is no need to start training for a marathon to achieve this, small changes in your daily activities will get you the benefits. Walk to the shops instead of taking the car, go for a swim in the local pool, take a nice long walk in the park, do some stretches when you wake up in the morning. All these simple measures can make a difference to your activity pattern and positively influence your back pain.
Pacing yourself
Back pain often comes and goes; you will have good and bad days. When you are having a good day (or a ‘least bad’ day) you may feel like doing a lot of things, from cleaning the house to doing the weekly shopping, from spending some more time at work to tidying up the garden. You may feel pressured to get all this work done before your pain increases. There is a chance you will over-do it and this may result in your having to take time off to recover from your increased back pain.

To avoid this, you may better off trying to pace yourself. Try to spread your workload over a longer period of time. The chances are that by doing so you can lengthen the time that you can control your pain and have fewer flare-ups.
Prioritising and planning
Be clear about things that you have to do and try to plan them in advance. However, at the same time, allow for some flexibility because other things can get in the way. If you are clear about your priorities for the day, for the week or for the next time period, you will feel much more relaxed once you have achieved them. Planning also links in with pacing; plan your day carefully and try to avoid overdoing it and paying the price.
Set realistic goals
Be realistic about what you can achieve and set yourself a goal. You can set goals for the day, for the week or for a longer period of time. If you are not realistic about what you can achieve, you will get frustrated about not achieving your goals. You may find that when your back pain changes, you have to re-set your goals.
Relaxation techniques
Find ways of relaxing. This may be special relaxation exercises or just finding an activity that you enjoy and allows you to relax, such as reading a book, listening to music, meeting friends, meditation, walking, etc. Everyone needs to unwind once in a while and do not let back pain get in the way of your relaxing moments.
Exercise
Although some people with back pain may fear exercise, exercise is actually an important element of managing back pain. Regular exercise can decrease pain and discomfort, strengthen muscles and make you feel good. Find some exercises that you enjoy and that you feel are beneficial to you. Your health provider or exercise professional may be able to advise you on what exercise you can try. Remember that you may feel some discomfort after you have been exercising muscles that are unfit or under-used. This should disappear within a day or two and you should feel less discomfort once your body gets used to the exercises.
Pain diary
Back pain often comes and goes and you will have periods of fairly minimum pain and periods of flare-ups. If you maintain a pain diary in which you keep a record of when you experience pain and what you had been doing, you may start to see a pattern. This will allow you to identify activities or circumstances that result in increased pain and you can then find other ways of doing these activities to avoid the pain increases.
Other resources
In addition to the above tips and techniques, you may want to contact your local self-help group, consult with a healthcare professional, or try one of the many products and services available to people with back pain.

So we should need to read number of alternative books about geography. Like this, when we start reading any particular subject we need to read number of alternative books. So it gives much information about the subject. For useful books we should need to go to library every day.

Some people take books in examination center and then read them so eagerly before the exam. In that time only some answers of questions will keep in our mind that what we read at last. So it’s becomes a big problem in an exam because we can’t get back answers of other questions quickly. So only we can write one question answer perfectly what we read before the exam eagerly. So we have to avoid reading before the examination time.

Tips to Keep Your Android Mobile Phone Safe

With the amount of information we keep on our smartphones, it's increasingly vital that we protect them and the data they house.
I don't want to sound like a fear-monger, but the fact is your phone can be lost or stolen, it can be destroyed, or its contents can be hacked via malware. Here are a few basic and advanced tips to consider to protect everything from your work files to contact information.

The Basics: Keep Your Phone Locked
It's extremely easy and effective to lock down access to your Android phone using built-in tools. Simply tap your way to the "Location and Security" setting. There you can create either a standard password or a screen lock pattern. If you use the screen lock pattern tool, be sure not to make an extremely easy and obvious pattern.

For Added Security: Hidden Lock adds an extra layer of security that is easy to implement but hard for would-be thieves to crack. After you have unlocked your phone using a password, Hidden Locks requires you to tap a hidden button before you can use the phone.

Avoiding Malicious Apps
Viruses and other malware are increasingly targeting the Android platform, so it's important to take a few precautions to avoid infecting your own phone or tablet.

For the ultimate in security, I recommend only downloading apps from the official Google Play store, where they have been vetted. Scammers have been known to create fake versions of popular apps, which are loaded with malware and only available at third-party websites.

However, some apps may simply not be available on the app store. If you see an intriguing app, you can verify its reputation by searching for it on Google and seeing if it has been written about, positively or negatively. Be wary of totally obscure apps.

Note App Permissions
Take the time to learn what permissions an app wishes to access, from making phone calls to using your system tools. While it makes sense that a social network application may wish to access your contacts, it doesn't make sense that a "dancing dog" app would. Be wary when apps ask for more than seems to make sense.

Consider an Anti-Virus
Finally, you can consider an anti-virus program for Android. Savvy users may not need these programs, but apps like Lookout Security & Antivirus do offer powerful features for added protection.

Find Your Lost Phone and Erase Data Remotely
Thanks to GPS and wireless Internet, you can locate a missing Android phone using one of the several apps available. I recommend Android Lost (free). Even with your speakers turned off, you can use this app to play a sound, which is handy when you simply lose the phone in your house. Furthermore, this app also enables you to erase all the phone's data, saving your contact information and files from prying eyes.

You can also take pictures from your camera to know who is using your phone. And better yet: This app can be installed remotely, so you can install it after you have lost your phone. (However, I strongly recommend installing it right away.)

And Don't Forget Physical Mishaps

All the security measures in the world won't matter if your phone breaks from a simple drop. Be sure to invest in a quality case.

Top Ten computer tricks you should kept in mind

Though there are thousands of basic computer tips  however in this article I am going to narrow it down to only the top 10 tips.
These computer tips will be extremely handy for the newbie computer user.

1. Shut Down The Right Way

Learn how to shutdown your computer correctly. This is very important and is often taken for granted. If you do not shut down the computer correctly it can cause an endless amount of problems. When a computer is shut down suddenly, and without warning, the computer is usually in the middle of an operation. The main problem is that if an operation is interrupted it usually remains unfinished and leaves stray or corrupt files lingering on your computer.
The same applies when you want to remove a USB flash drive from your computer. You must do this correctly to ensure that the computer has in fact finished with the USB stick. If you remove the USB during a file transfer you might corrupt the USB drive and it’s contents.

2. Know Where Your Files Are Being Saved

Know where to store your files the files that you create. You should not save files just anywhere on your computer. Everything you save or create should go into your documents folder in Windows XP, Vista and Seven. The Windows XP documents also has other folders in it such as my pictures and my music. On Windows Vista you need to save your files in your username section. For example my username is Mitz. This folder has documents, pictures, music, and so on in it.
To get to your pictures, documents and more, simply click on the start menu at the bottom right of your screen.
You should not save files in C: drive or even in C:Program Files.

3. Install All Software To The Default Location

Install programs to the correct location on C: drive. This is an easy task, as all program , by default, get installed in C:Program Files. Unfortunately sometimes people presume they need to choose where to install a program and change the default destination.

4. Don’t Mess With IT

Do not change default settings. “If it is not broke, don’t fix it.” People touch things they are not supposed to and cause problems. Most of the time if you just use your computer, and not fiddle with its settings, then your computer will run smoothly and without problems.

5. Get Rid Of Trial Programs

Uninstall nagging trial programs and unused programs in the correct way. It is important to know how to do certain tasks correctly, and removing programs is one of them. Too many people think that if they remove the desktop icon, then the program has been deleted also. This is not true. Each program has files scattered in different locations on your computer hard drive. These need to be removed by correctly and thoroughly.

6. Take Some Lessons

Complete a computer basics course. It will save you money on repairs in the end. People can easily rip you off when repairing computers. I have seen people get charged $100 for a tech guy pressing CTRL ALT DEL on the keyboard to bypass the password login section on Windows XP. The customer nearly had a heart attack when she had forgotten her password again, bought the computer to me, watch me start it and press those three keys to get in.
I used to repair computers and I have seen and heard about a lot of rip off’s.

7. Take Computer Maintenance Seriously

Learn how to perform computer maintenance and stick to a schedule. There are also some free programs that will help you keep you computer running smoothly.

8. If You Need Antivirus – GET IT NOW!

Buy an Antivirus program if you plan to be on the internet. Don’t skimp on this one. Getting a virus can crash your entire computer and even damage hardware components. It is not worth risking your computers health by skimping on a an Antivirus program. Free Antivirus programs are OK in some circumstances, however they cannot protect you when you get hit by a serious virus.

9. Keep Updated

Perform regular updates. This is a great basic computer tip that is often overlooked. This includes downloading and installing Windows updates and Antivirus definition updates. They are both as important as each other. Firstly Windows updates usually contain necessary patches and updates that keep your computer up to date and ready for almost anything. Without these updates, your computer could be vulnerable to attacks and also prone to problems with programs. The updates are there to keep your computer up with the times, not to spy on you, as some people might think. Also updating your virus definitions is a vital process and needs to be performed to keep your computer safe. If you do not update your virus definitions, your virus checker will only be looking for outdated viruses, not the newly developed ones.

10. Backup or Risk Losing Files

Backup your files. The best thing to do with your files is to store them on a separate partition or hard drive to the operating system. For example if you had C: drive and D: drive you should have Windows installed on C: drive and your saved files D: drive. This way if your computer crashes then the files will still be safe…But this does not mean you do not have to backup important files. You should have two copies of any important files and they should be stored in different locations. For example if you saved a group of photos in C:/users/mitz/pictures you should not store the second copy on C: drive. You could backup the file to an external hard drive or even a disc.

Tips on How to Speed Up Computer for Free

This article shows you tips on how to give your slow PC a speed boost and also to keep your computer free of clutter.

1. Regular Maintenance

As time passes while you use your PC, everything stored in your computer data may become scattered. Bad sectors can be found; some files or folders may be missing. There’re 3 steps you have to take in order to fix these problems.

1. Defragment your hard disk

2. Perform Scandisk(chkdisk) for your hard disk

3. Run Disk Cleanup for your Windows

2. Disable Unnecessary Processes

When your PC starts, Windows loads lots of processes including some that you may not be aware of. Very often these are the processes required for Windows and security software such as anti-virus and firewall to function properly. Somtimes, however, processes of unnecessary programs can be running in the background, using up your computer resources and slow down your PC.

Hold the CTRL and ALT keys down and then press the DELETE key once. This brings up the Windows Task manger window which allows you to see at a glance all the programs currently running on your PC. The Applications tab will list programs such as Internet Explorer, Word and any folders you have open. Click to select a particular program and then click the End Task button to stop it.

To disable some programs from running themselve when you start your computer, check this tip: How To Disable Startup Programs In Windows XP and Vista (not much different for windows 7)

3. Remove Malicious Programs: Spywares, Adwares, Viruses and Worms

A spyware or a virus can be the largest reason of why your computer became so slow recently. Slowing down your PC is not the only thing a virus can do to you. There’re more such as stealing your private data, crash your windows, destroy your files and folders. You must take immediate action to remove all these computer threats.

The best way to do this is to install an Anti-Virus Program, perform a scan for your PC, delete all found threats, enable system security control offered by your anti-virus program and switch on your firewall.

4. Clean up your windows Registry

What is registry? In the Microsoft Windows operating systems beginning with Windows 95, the registry is a single place for keeping such information as what hardware is attached, what system options have been selected, how computer memory is set up, and what application programs are to be present when the operating system is started. The registry keep growing when you use Windows. As it does so, it attracts obsolete and unnecessary information, and gradually becomes cluttered and fragmented. With the growing of the registry, it can degrade the performance of the whole system and cause many weird software problems.

5. Physically clean up your PC

Yes, I know this sounds crazy but you just have to do this. As time passes, the inner part of your computer may clogged with dust. Dust can cause heat problem and eventually slow down your PC or in some serious case your hardware can be damaged. We recommend you to physically clean up your computer at least twice a year for best performance.

6. Setting up Virtual Memory

RAM is a place where an operating system, applications or programs in current use are stored so that they can be quickly reached by the PC’s processor. RAM is much more faster to be read or write compare to other storage devices such as a hard drive. Virtual memory is the memory created by using the hard disk to emulate RAM (random-access memory). It allows a computer to operate as if it had more memory than it actually does, but of course it’s not as fast as RAM.

7. Remove Unwanted Programs

Some programs will run without your knowledge even if you don’t open the programs. These programs will therefore eat up your computer resources and slow down your PC. I’m sure there is a lot of software in your PC which is unnecessary, and has usually been installed and then forgotten about over time. It is good practice to clean your PC of unwanted programs regularly. This can be done easily.

• Windows XP: Go to Start, Control Panel, double click on Add or Remove Programs.

• Windows 7 or Vista: Go to Start, Control Panel, click on Uninstall a program.

• Scroll through the programs and look for those that you don’t use anymore. Click to select them and then click the Remove or Uninstall button to uninstall them.

8. Reduce the amount of disk space used

Reducing disk space used can let your PC retrieve and write data faster. This is somehow related to the uninstalling programs tip above. You can uninstall programs to free up some disk space. But some files or folders wouldn’t appear in the uninstall programs list such as photos, videos and notes. You’ll have to delete them manually. This might take you some time but it worth the result.

Hold the CTRL and ALT keys down and then press the DELETE key once. (Click on Start Task Manager if you’re using Vista or 7). Under Performance tab, if your CPU usage is at constant 100%, you’re facing one of the common problems caused by using excessive disk space. CPU running at constant 100% means that there’s no more free CPU resource you can use for other tasks. Your computer will therefore perform very slowly.

9. Reduce icons and shortcuts on your desktop

More icons means more time to load. If you do always play around with alt-tab or alt-esc, switching programs or going back to desktop, it might takes you lots of time to load if you have tons of icons on your desktop. It’s good practice to keep your desktop as clean as possible. Believe me, this trick does work.

10. Speed up your PC with Windows ReadyBoost

A trick that you would not like to miss. You can actually use your pendrive to give your PC an extra cache of memory to help increase speed by using the Windows ReadyBoost feature.

11. Keep all Drivers up to date

Up to date drivers means your hardware runs at peak performance. Up to date drivers means more bugs have been fixed, and your system will have fewer crashes. Up to date drivers mean new features and configuration options are unlocked in your devices, particularly with video cards. To update your drivers, you’ll have to refer to the official website of each of your hardware and look for the related drivers.

Usually, we’ll keep our eye on the drivers for:

1. Graphic cards

2. Motherboard (chipset)

3. Sound Card

4. Network card

5. Keyboard and Mouse

6. Monitor

If you find updating drivers a frustrating and difficult process, you should give a try on Driver Robot. Driver Robot is a free utility that offers to scan your PC for incorrect and out-of-date drivers. It’s also a marketing ploy designed to upsell a $30 software package and subscription to a driver database.

Publisher Description: Would you like to automatically update your drivers? Driver Robot has the world’s largest driver database. Its fast scan is guaranteed to identify the right driver for your system. Download it now and get the latest official drivers for your PC.

12. Overclocking

Strongly not recommended. Overclocking is the process of running a computer component at a higher clock rate (more clock cycles per second) than it was designed for or was specified by the manufacturer, usually practiced by enthusiasts seeking an increase in the performance of their computers. Some purchase low-end computer components which they then overclock to higher clock rates, or overclock high-end components to attain levels of performance beyond the specified values. Others overclock outdated components to keep pace with new system requirements, rather than purchasing new hardware.

In short, overclock freaks tweak the clock rate of their hardware. Overclocking requires more electric power to run the particular hardware and causing its temperature to increase (depends on how much clock rate has been tweaked). The temperature is the key point. For example, to overclock a 2.5ghz processor to 3.0ghz, it might need to burn it up to 90 degree celcius or more which is not normal and definitely need to be cooled down. In this case, overclock freaks will install all the superb cooling devices to cool down their overclocked hardware.

If you’re still interested in burning up your hardware, google “overclock” and learn more about it.

13. Buying better hardware parts

Of course, if you can afford to buy new parts for your computer, it’s the best way to boost up your PC speed. But make sure you don’t waste your money on unnecessary hardware parts. You don’t have to buy the latest superb graphic card if you’re not a gamer. Only buy extra RAM if you’re to run many programs at a time. Only buy extra hard disk if you have tons of files needed to be stored. Gamers, programmers or designers should have a better processor and graphic card.

DO’s and DONT’s TO MAKE WHITE COCONUT CHUTNEY

During early or busy morning hours, the most noisy and irritating job is to grate coconut in large quantities for chutneys.U can buy grated coconut from the shops, freeze it in a zip lock bag & use them whenever needed. But some people don’t like the the taste of frozen coconut. Its the same in my house too.So what I do if I want to grind coconut without grating is, I slice or chop the coconut using the back of a thick ladle.I remove it as thin, small slices for the mixer to grind easily.I don’t use knife as it is risky. So i use this ladle (shown in the picture ).This makes my job easier .But one thing, don’t follow this procedure everyday.Ur mixie jar blade may worn out/break soon.So try this option once in a while if u are in a hurry.
For some people, most of the time coconut chutney becomes watery & it separates from the chutney. To avoid this, first dry grind all the ingredients adding salt.U will get a wet coarse powder. Then add water little by little and grind it for more time.U will get a smooth thick chutney.( U can also use little milk to get white colored chutneys but its shelf life would be reduced)
During winter season, whenever u grind coconut for chutneys,u will find a layer of whitish oil separated from the chutney.Chutney won’t taste good.Use warm water to grind the chutney. The problem will be solved !!

DO’s:
1. Always use fresh grated coconut, little brown coating of shell skin is ok to use. More coconut less pottukadalai/Fried gram is also a must for white chutneys.
2. Less water for Khatti (thick )chutney, add only if its necessary to run your mixie.
3. Indian mixer or small jars are a must.
4. Use small green chillies and always use less green chillies for white color chutney and increase the spiciness by tempering with more red chillies.

DON’Ts:
1. Ready made flakes or desiccated flakes or frozen grated coconut will work but don't expect taste and color. Mostly yuck, pale white color with oily look.In that case, follow the above tip I mentioned for winter season.
2. No microwaving for reheating, just thaw to bring back to room temperature. Reheating makes it release more oil and which results in stinky coconut smell.
3. Blender will not work for thick chutney and adding more water will make it thin but consistency will be still coarse.

Tips to keep in mind while shopping for an ACs.

Happy life path team gives you happy life tips. Here are five tips to keep in mind while shopping for an ACs. This air-conditioner buying tips and guide will help you get the best one in your budget.

Summer is at its scorching best in India right now. The whole North India is on the fire and even other parts of the country are seeing mercury going up. Well, this is exactly when air-conditioners come into the scenes and offer some relief.

Usually here at India Today Tech we write about smartphones and other cool gadgets. But guess what, which is the coolest gadgets of them all. That is the air-conditioner. So, this time around we decided to take a look at how ACs are sold in India and how people should buy them. Here are five tips to keep in mind while shopping for an ACs. This air-conditioner buying tips and guide will help you get the best one in your budget.

Go for better energy efficiency: Higher the rating, lower the electricity bill

It is no secret that an air-conditioner heavily adds up to the monthly electricity bill. Hence, an AC that consumes less power and meets your requirements should be preferred over the rest. The question arises how you should find the energy efficiency rating? This is where start rating comes to play.

Most air conditioners come with star ratings ranging from star 1 to star 5. So, higher the star, lower the power consumption. For instance, a 5 start air conditioner will consume less power as compared to a 3 start AC. So, keeping this is mind the next time you are out to shop for an air conditioner is recommendable.

But there is another bit to note here and that is Inverter ACs. These ACs are, at least theoretically and mostly in real life, consume less power than the ACs use conventional cooling plant. The effect, in some cases can be dramatic. It is so big that Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), which is a government body, rates inverter ACs separately. In other words, in most cases you will find that a 3-star inverter AC will consume less power than a 5-star conventional ACs.

Do keep this in mind, although inverter ACs also tend to be little bit more expensive compared to the regular ones.

Cooling Capacity: Size matters

This is a very important aspect to consider because a miss here and your ACs will either feel insufficient or will chill your room so much that you feel living on the north pole. Usually for a room that is around 100 to 120 square feet, a good 1 ton AC is sufficient. For a room around 175 square feet, you can opt for a 1.5 ton AC. And so on and so forth. Getting the right size ACs also helps you further save the electricity because you will use your AC optimally.

Don't go by features and marketing, basics matter more

In ACs, the most important parts are also the ones that company's don't talk about. This is because it is easy for companies to sell stuff on the basis of some cool sounding features instead of promising people quality stuff, which might be costly. One good bit to ascertain the quality of an AC is to ask the AC manufacturers what sort of coils and material they are using in their ACs.

Copper coils are slightly more expensive but are significantly better from performance and reliability perspective compared to aluminium coils. Similarly, ask your AC manufacturer about the efficiency of the AC when it is used in extreme heat and when the sun is beating down on it directly. The good quality ACs will deal with extreme temperatures in a better way. The lower quality ACs, however, perform poorly in extreme heat and they also consume more power.

Consider the noise level, area where the AC will be fit

Nowadays, if you get the split AC chances are that noise will not be a problem. But if you get a window AC it is possible that the noise from the machine may disturb you when you are sleeping. Even with the split AC you should check for the noise and the ask the ask the AC dealer exact noise details (it is in dB) for both outdoor and indoor units. Prefer ACs that make less noise.

Similarly, before you buy an AC be very sure where you want to place it. This will help you avoid the aesthetic issues, especially in India where ACs are often afterthoughts in houses and where the installation process is very amateurish from even well-known brands like Daikin and LG. It will also help you get the AC that will suit your needs best.

Always worry about aftersales

ACs have fairly complex and mechanical technology inside them. This means they require servicing even when they are working fine and there is nothing wrong with them. So always opt for a AC brand that has a proven record of good servicing, especially in your area. If you are not sure about the service record of an AC company, don't hesitate to ask dealers. If required call up the AC brand customer care centre and make inquiries. In other words, don't just buy an AC because you like it. But it because you like it and you are sure that it will be serviced well and at affordable rates after you purchase it. If you are not sure about the aftersales offered by a brand, don't buy its ACs.
